The ASUS RT-BE82U WiFi router uses the WiFi 7 standard and offers dual-band wireless connectivity with a total transmission speed of up to 6,500Mbps. This network device integrates modern technologies for fast data transfer in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. The hardware consists of a 2.0GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 256MB of flash memory. The device supports both IPv4 and IPv6 internet protocols and can operate in wireless router, access point, repeater, media bridge or AiMesh node mode. The design features four external antennas for stable signal propagation. The wireless network operates on two bands simultaneously, with Multi-link Operation technology allowing simultaneous connection to both frequencies. 4096-QAM modulation effectively increases the density of transmitted data in each channel. MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies coordinate communication with multiple clients at once. The 2.4GHz band offers speeds of up to 688Mbps and the 5GHz band offers speeds of up to 5,764Mbps.

The AiProtection Pro security system, powered by Trend Micro, detects threats in real time. Users have access to advanced tools for network monitoring and blocking malicious sites. The built-in VPN client supports L2TP, OpenVPN (OVPN), PPTP and WireGuard protocols, while the VPN server supports IPSec, OpenVPN (OVPN), PPTP and WireGuard for secure remote connections. Security features include WPA/WPA2/WPA3-Personal and WPA/WPA2-Enterprise encryption, a two-way Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), one-tap security scan, Safe Browsing, and parental controls with content filtering and time scheduling.
AiMesh Technology and Connectivity Options
This network device supports AiMesh technology, which allows multiple compatible units to be linked into a single network. Users can move freely throughout the space without disconnection, as the system switches client devices to the strongest signal source. The network operates under a single name (SSID), simplifying daily use in houses and flats. Wired connectivity offers high throughput thanks to five 2.5Gbps ports, where one port serves as the WAN input and the remaining four ports function as a LAN interface. The design includes a high-speed USB 3.2 Gen 1 port for connecting external drives. It provides one 2.5GbE WAN port, four 2.5GbE LAN ports, and one USB 3.2 Gen1 port.
