BenQ X500i

BenQ X500i
The BenQ X500i gaming projector uses DLP technology to display images in native 4K UHD resolution. The 4LED light source provides a brightness of 2200 ANSI lumens and covers 84% of the DCI-P3 colour space. The projector runs on the Android TV 11.0 operating system and, thanks to its short throw distance, it creates a large image even in smaller rooms. Its gaming modes optimise the picture and sound for different genres and reduce input lag.
Key features of the BenQ X500i projector
- DLP display technology shows native 4K UHD resolution
- 4LED light source with a brightness of 2200 ANSI lumens
- Image correction includes automatic vertical and horizontal keystone adjustment
- Smart features and Android 11.0 operating system with Google and Netflix certification
- Wireless connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0
- Short-throw design with 1.2× zoom
Optimisation for game consoles
The projector offers console gamers dedicated game modes for RPGs, sports, and first-person shooters. These profiles adjust the colour reproduction, contrast, and sound for the specific genre. For competitive play, the FPS Crosshair feature displays a crosshair on the screen. Auto Game Mode automatically detects a connected Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch console and loads the appropriate settings. A low input lag of 4.16ms at a 240Hz refresh rate means commands are transmitted with no noticeable delay.
Flexible 4K projection
The image quality is defined by 4K resolution, which dynamically adjusts contrast and brightness to reveal details in both dark and bright scenes. The short throw ratio of 0.69–0.83 means that the projector can cast a 95" image from a distance of 1.44 metres. Installation flexibility is supported by 1.2× optical zoom and automatic 2D keystone correction, which aligns the image both vertically and horizontally within a ±30° range.
Surround sound and connectivity
The integrated sound system consists of two 5W speakers enhanced with MAXXAudio DPS technology to create a surround sound effect. The projector supports HDMI eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel), which transmits Dolby Atmos soundtracks to a compatible soundbar or AV receiver. Connectivity is expanded by an S/PDIF optical output for multi-channel audio. There are two HDMI 2.0b ports, a USB-C with DisplayPort and power delivery support, a USB-A, and an RS232 serial port.
Smart features and long life
The Google-certified Android TV 11.0 operating system provides access to the app store and comes with Netflix pre-installed. For wireless connectivity, there is dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz) and Bluetooth 5.0 for pairing with external speakers or headphones. The 4LED light source has a lifespan of 20000 hours in normal mode. In the power-saving ECO mode, this extends to 30000 hours, eliminating the need for lamp replacement. The operating noise level is around 31dB.
