BrainMax 100% blue light blocking glasses, Swing
Swing glasses blocking 100% of blue light
Glasses blocking up to 100% of harmful blue light
Wear these glasses 1.5 hours before bedtime to block blue light and optimise your circadian rhythm. They block up to 100% of harmful blue light, covering the spectrum from 380 to 500 nm. They feature an elegant unisex design with transparent frames.
Wearing blue light blocking glasses before bed can improve your sleep, health (by releasing melatonin) and morning energy.
The glasses are packed in a plastic bag and cardboard box to prevent any damage during transport.
The problem with blue light
In today's digital era, few people can take their eyes off screens, whether it is a TV, mobile phone or computer. The increasing use of these electronic devices and LED lights has brought about new issues.
- Exposure to blue light from screens disrupts melatonin production and sleep patterns.
- Screen-emitted blue light is linked to retinal damage, cataracts and macular degeneration.
- Visible blue light carries higher energy and exposure to it is highly exhausting for the eyes.
- Excessive saturation of blue light can reduce visual acuity and make focusing difficult.
- Blue light has been shown to induce photochemical damage to the retina and macula, causing ocular oxidative stress.
- Sleep disorders can lead to depression, neurotoxin accumulation and an increased risk of disease.
Blue light between 380 and 470nm is considered harmful because it can cause retinal damage and cataracts, and is associated with sleep disorders. However, not all blue light spectra are bad – for example, the 470 to 500nm range, also known as turquoise blue light, is generally considered beneficial. This band of visible blue light is useful because it stimulates the natural reflexes that protect the eyes from overexposure, while also supporting cognitive and memory functions in the brain. At the same time, it stimulates photosensitive retinal ganglion cells, the pupillary reflex, and regulates the circadian cycle.
