Valerian is an herb that is known for its calming effects. It significantly shortens the time of falling asleep, has a positive effect against stress, tension and induces feelings of calm. It positively affects the functions of the cardiovascular system, has a beneficial effect on blood pressure levels. In addition, it affects cognitive function and the entire digestive system. The 1:1 tincture is packed in dark bottles, thus sufficiently protected from light. You can take the tincture on its own, but also add it to water or juice.
Benefits of herbal tinctures
Maceration is probably the oldest type of herb processing. Plants steeped in distilled alcohol have taken firm root in Western medicine. Alcohol is used to "break down" the plant's cell wall, allowing the release of biologically active compounds. The highest quality plants are selected for the tincture and after thorough cleansing they are slowly infused in 45% alcohol. Tinctures are much more concentrated than herbal decoctions alone, making their effects more noticeable in a shorter period of time. Moreover, thanks to the alcohol content, they have a long shelf life and can last for several years if stored properly. The tincture is packed in dark bottles to protect it sufficiently from light. You can take it on its own, but also add it to water or juice.

Induces feelings of calm and promotes quality sleep
Valerian has a rich history, as it was prescribed for insomnia by the Greek physicians Hippocrates and Galen. Compounds that stimulate a chemical messenger in the brain called gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA), which acts to calm the nervous system, are likely responsible for the feelings of calm that valerian offers. This is the same principle offered by common conventional anti-anxiety drugs and sedatives. The good news is also that compared to conventional commonly available medicines, valerian is not addictive and also does not cause dizziness.
Recommended dosage
2-3 times a day 2-3 ml, or as recommended by your doctor. 1 ml corresponds to a full squeeze of the dropper.
