The Canon Extender EF 1.4 X III compact teleconverter is ideal for sports, nature and journalistic photography. Increases the 1.4x focal length of Canon L-series telephoto (zoom) lenses, increases the accuracy of the autofocus system and improves communication between the camera and lens. Anti-reflective materials used for the construction of the teleconverter body reduce the incidence of glare, dust and water resistance is increased.

The EF 1.4x III teleconverter increases the 1.4x focal length of the L-series IS supertelephoto lenses for which it is specifically designed. The design of the teleconverter ensures that there is no loss of lens performance or loss of image quality.

Advanced anti-reflective materials inside the teleconverter body and coating on the outer edges of the lenses reduce the appearance of flare. The design is dust- and water-resistant, contributing to the image quality. Lenses with dust and moisture protection are equipped with a rubber seal on the bayonet, which can cause minor abrasions on the camera bayonet. However, this does not affect the functionality of the lens or the camera.
A built-in microprocessor enables precise data transfer between the teleconverter and the camera, contributing to the enhanced performance of the autofocus and metering system. The EF 1.4x III teleconverter is compatible with most telephoto and telephoto zoom lenses in Canon's top-of-the-line L-series professional lens lineup. It increases their focal length while decreasing their effective aperture by only one value.
