Cayin N3Ultra offers three playback modes
The Cayin N3Ultra offers 3 main playback modes (Triple Timbre) with different sound characteristics. The 'Classic' mode delivers a characteristic warm sound inspired by valve amplifiers, while the 'Modern' mode offers a hybrid sound that combines the acoustic properties of valves and transistors. The third option is the 'Solid-State' mode, which is characterised by a linear sound with traditional transistor amplification. The 'Classic' and 'Modern' modes use Cayin's third-generation circuit with Raytheon JAN6418 Pentode NOS Vacuum Tubes. The 'Solid-State' mode relies on traditional transistor amplification with a different sound characteristic.
Elegant and compact body with a TFT display
The Cayin N3Ultra player has an elegant aluminium body with a rectangular design and sharp edges, giving it a robust and modern look. The 2cm thick device is equipped with a 4.1" TFT touchscreen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, which makes browsing and playing tracks easy. For files with ID3-Tag support, the display also shows additional information about the recording, such as the full title, album, artist's name, etc. The player's compact dimensions make it easy to carry, so you can always have your favourite music with you.
Easily accessible controls including a home button
On the right side of the Cayin N3Ultra player, in addition to the large rotary volume dial, there are also practical buttons for pausing playback and skipping tracks forwards or backwards. The controls are highlighted with a subtle rose gold accent. An interesting addition is the two laser-cut openings on the left side, which reveal the suspended vacuum valves inside the player. Below the display, there is a home button in the form of an LED indicator, which helps you navigate, including returning to the previous screen and going to the home screen.
The Cayin N3Ultra features a 10-band equaliser
The Cayin N3Ultra player is equipped with a ten-band parametric equaliser that lets you fine-tune the sound profile according to your preferences, the music genre, or the characteristics of your connected headphones. In addition to boosting bass and softening treble, you can also set the desired frequency, gain, and bandwidth (Q factor) for up to ten different frequency points directly on the display. The equaliser supports a sharing function and is compatible with the AutoEQ tool.
High-capacity battery with fast charging capability
The Cayin N3Ultra MP3 player is powered by a high-performance 4500mAh lithium-polymer battery, which provides up to 12 hours of continuous playback on a single charge (in solid-state mode). Thanks to Quick Charge 3.0 support, it only takes an hour to recharge the battery from 20% to 80%. The included USB-C cable is used to charge the battery.
