Cold sores are caused by the Herpes Simplex virus and manifest as an outbreak of fluid-filled blisters around the lips, chin, and nose. The discreet COMPEED healing cold sore patch, containing active hydrocolloid gel, ensures faster healing, minimises scab formation, and protects against contamination. The patch is ultra-adhesive with tapered edges, and its translucent corners blend in with the skin. It stays in place for up to 12 hours, and its design makes it very discreet. You can use the COMPEED cold sore patch at any stage of a cold sore's development; it works immediately after application. You can even apply make-up or lipstick over it. The patch also reduces the risk of spreading the virus from the cold sore.

How to use:
- Apply the patch at the first sign of a cold sore, usually a tingling or itching sensation.
- Wash your hands. Remove the applicator from the wrapper and hold it by the ends with both hands.
- Gently pull both ends in the direction of the arrows on the applicator until one half of the adhesive side is exposed. Do not touch the adhesive side of the patch.
- Gently press the semi-exposed part of the patch with your finger to secure it firmly over the cold sore.
- Slowly pull the end of the applicator downwards and away from the skin with a gentle motion until the patch slides off the applicator.
- You can apply make-up or lipstick over the patch.
- Wash your hands after application.
- As long as the patch stays in place, there is no need to change or remove it.
- However, as soon as it starts to detach from the skin, it should be replaced with a new one. Remove the patch by gently stretching it along the skin (in the opposite direction you would pull it off).
Warning:
Wash your hands before and after applying the patch. Do not remove the patch to let the wound 'breathe'. This can actually prolong the healing process. Do not combine with creams, as the patch will not stick to the cold sore. For the best results, it is advisable to use the patch continuously day and night until the cold sore has completely healed.
