An mATX (the abbreviation for Micro ATX Motherboard) has 4 slots for RAM or PCIe. You get a wide choice of brands and the motherboard can be equipped with an Intel or AMD processor.

Micro ATX Motherboard vs. ATX? Is Size the Only Difference?

What are the main differences between a classic ATX and a Micro ATX motherboard? They differ in size, price and the number of PCle slots used to connect graphics and sound cards, as well as other components. A Classic ATX board is built for maximum performance and will be appreciated by players with high demands. For gamers whose performance bar isn't set as high, or for casual users, the micro ATX motherboard which is cheaper, is a good choice.
