Its compact design makes it easy to use with PCs, laptops, and gaming consoles. The Sound Blaster X4 connects via a USB interface, which also handles power and digital signal transmission. Creative Sound Blaster X4 – surround sound and reproduction
With support for 7.1 discrete and virtual sound channels, the Sound Blaster X4 enhances the surround sound capabilities for both headphones and speakers. The device offers three ways to reproduce surround sound:
- Super X-Fi Headphone Holography – simulates a multi-speaker system and brings this spatial experience to your headphones
- Sound Blaster Surround – algorithms with intelligent optimisation of the input sound's spatial characteristics for a more pronounced surround effect
- Dolby Digital Live – real-time encoding of all sources into multi-channel surround sound
SXFI BATTLE Mode and Scout Mode gaming audio modes
The headphone amplifier offers SXFI BATTLE Mode and Scout Mode, which help to highlight important in-game audio details, such as footsteps or the direction of incoming sounds.

CrystalVoice technology for clear communication

The Acoustic Echo Cancellation feature helps suppress echoes and ensures clear voice transmission. The software also lets you activate the Smart Volume function, which balances communication volume. The microphone equaliser complements your headset's built-in microphone, helping to achieve a more natural and clearer delivery.
Headphone amplifier connectivity options
The Creative Sound Blaster X4 offers several ways to connect to other devices:
- Line-out – connect speaker systems (2.1, 5.1, or 7.1)
- Optical-in – connect devices such as PS4s, Blu-ray players, set-top boxes, or TVs
- Optical-out – connect to an AV receiver via digital signal
- USB port – connect and power the device

Intuitive controls on the Creative Sound Blaster X4 amplifier
The headphone amplifier features intuitive controls with buttons and a rotary knob on the front of the device. For example, the quick microphone mute button saves time you would otherwise spend searching for the setting in a game or application. The Audio Balance function lets you control the volume level between two sound sources, such as game audio and voice chat.
