You've probably already experienced the nightmare of a power supply interruption a few seconds before you saved that important document. Almost all your work has vanished, and you must start from scratch. Such catastrophic scenarios can be prevented by the CyberPower OR600ERM1U backup source, or UPS. In principle, this hardware is just a battery reservoir that powers all types of electronics. The CyberPower OR600ERM1U UPS features the Line interactive design approach. Off-line is seen as the simplest form when power fails because it switches power to the UPS unit itself. The line interactive UPS enhances the simpler off-line version of data line surge suppression to guard against dangerous surges travelling along data lines.

An important attribute is how long the UPS will function when the electricity is off. This is governed by the power consumption of the connected appliances – for example, at half-load (50%), the backup time will be three times longer. The load of the backup source governs the operating time, which at full load is 4 min and at a load of 50%, it's 13 min. It is therefore necessary to estimate the power consumption of the connected appliances and ideally to add some spare power left. The CyberPower OR600ERM1U measures the apparent power as 600, but realistically, the actual usage matches the value of 360 W.
