Dell PowerEdge T20
Dell PowerEdge T20
Dell ranks among the leading server manufacturers in the world. The new PowerEdge T20 model has a small Mini Tower format, but offers fairly rich expansion options. It can serve as a central document storage or run a small business system. Its compact size and minimal noise mean it does not require a special air-conditioned room. The server comes preinstalled with Microsoft Windows 7 Pro, guaranteeing a familiar user interface and easy management.
The server is powered by a dual-core Intel processor backed by 8 GB RAM, which is expandable to 32 GB. This reasonably priced version also offers two hard drives with a total capacity of 1 000 GB. It is a solid start, but chances are that you would need to expand the storage in the future. The server’s total storage capacity can be expanded to a stunning 13 TB. Another option is to use modern USB 3.0 external hard drives; the server supports up to four. An Intel I217 gigabit network card handles the server connectivity.
Properties:
Expansion HDD bays:
4x 3.5" internal (2 occupied) - max. capacity 4 x 3 TB
2x 2.5" internal (after purchasing expansion kit) - max. 2x 500 GB
