Gitzo Mountaineer GT2542 eXact Tripod

The Gitzo company has been on the market for almost 100 years and has been producing tripods and supporting systems for more than 60 years. Now, Gitzo is a global leader in its field and produces high-quality and sophisticated tripods. One such tripod is the Gitzo GT2542 Mountaineer. As you may be able to guess from its name, the tripod is designed especially for taking photos on rough and rugged terrain. The tripod is light-weight, in addition to offering exceptional compactness and perfect craftsmanship. It is suitable for lenses with a focal length of 200mm and a maximum of 300mm. It comes without a tripod head.

Unique carbon structure

The legs are made from carbon fiber, using Carbon eXact technology and are the most advanced on the market. This technology provides high structural strength, resistance to bending and will absorb vibrations superbly. On one leg, with a diameter of 28mm, you will find up to 1,500,000 carbon fibers, each with a size of 7 microns.

Shoot just above the ground

The Ground Level Set system, with a centre-to-edge control ring, will help you to take perfect photos from low above the terrain. The legs are adjustable at three angles and are fitted with locks. The feet are also replaceable.

G-Lock Ultra lock

The tripod is equipped with a unique G-Lock Ultra lock. This mechanism has been completely redesigned and now boasts up to 20% higher stiffness. It is also designed to minimise the penetration of dust and gravel into the lock. The Gravity Lock works with weights, which operate vertically on the tripod legs. The greater the load, the stronger the lock.
