The HARTMANN Veroval duo control upper arm blood pressure monitor uses the patented Duo Sensor method, which combines 2 blood pressure measurement methods - oscillometric and auscultatory. While home blood pressure monitors commonly measure blood pressure using the oscillometric method, most doctors still rely on the auscultation methour The combination of these methods will therefore ensure you have an accurate result, even if you suffer from cardiac arrhythmia. The device boasts a 5-year warranty and comes with an arm cuff with an adjustable circumference.
The Secure fit blood pressure cuff, which you can find on HARTMANN Veroval blood pressure monitors, can be put on very easily thanks to the patented Pull-up system. The ergonomic shape also prevents the cuff from rolling to the sides and automatically leaves a space of 2 cm from the elbow crease. Then just press the measurement button and watch the icons on the display. The most important is the correct cuff fit and rest position indicator icon. Then comes the Comfort Air technology, which estimates the approximate value of your systolic pressure at the beginning of the measurement and, based on it, inflates the cuff only to the necessary level so as not to put unnecessary pressure on you and cause discomfort during the measurement. The first time you use it, the cuff is inflated to a pressure of 190 mmHg, and the next time it is set according to previous results. Depending on the type of device, you can choose a smart blood pressure cuff in multiple sizes, or choose a universal cuff.
The listening (auscultation or Korotkov) method consists of listening to the so-called Korotkoff sounds, which the doctor commonly listens to with a stethoscope in the office. When the blood pressure cuff is inflated, the cuff compresses an artery in the arm, creating an artificial obstruction to blood flow. Then the pressure in the cuff slowly decreases until blood starts flowing through the artery again, which is manifested by audible heart sounds in the stethoscope. Once the pressure in the arm drops so much that the artery is no longer compressed and normal blood flow is restored, the sounds will no longer be heard. The pressure at the first audible echo corresponds to the systolic pressure value (SYS), the pressure at the last audible echo corresponds to the diastolic pressure value (DIA). This is therefore the most accurate method of measuring blood pressure, even in the case of cardiac arrhythmia. The pressure is measured by the auscultation method using, for example, mercury pressure gauges or the HARTMANN Veroval Duo control pressure gauge.
