The INSYS MIRO-L230 industrial router provides a secure and stable network connection for industrial systems and machines via mobile networks. This gateway router facilitates a reliable internet connection and remote management of end devices in demanding conditions. The device uses a quad-core 600MHz processor and 448MB of RAM for smooth data transfer. Integrated security protocols and support for virtual private networks (VPNs) protect transmitted information from unauthorised access. The device creates secure encrypted channels for remote management and maintenance of connected technologies. Network administrators can create up to 20 concurrent IPsec VPN tunnels or use OpenVPN, WireGuard and PPTP protocols. AES standard data encryption protects information transfers from eavesdropping on public networks. The router also supports VPN Pass-through and GRE over IPsec protocols for interconnecting remote points.
The INSYS MIRO-L230 industrial router, with its plastic body, measures 77×99×26mm, which simplifies installation in confined spaces such as control cabinets or vending machines. Users can take advantage of flexible mounting options, either on a wall using screws or on mounting plates in control cabinets. This router saves space in technical cabinets, and installation is complemented by the included DIN rail bracket. The design includes one Mini-SIM card slot (2FF standard) and one female SMA antenna connector.
This industrial router operates reliably in a temperature range of -40°C to 75°C, meeting the requirements for operation in non-standard temperature conditions. The plastic body protects the internal electronics from mechanical damage during both installation and operation. Its high resistance to vibration and shock has been independently tested, confirming its suitability for deployment in heavy industry. The device is powered via a 2-pin terminal block, which contributes to a stable connection to the electrical network in industrial cabinets.
The icom OS operating system provides protection against cyber threats in industrial networks. The integrated stateful firewall and HTTPS SSL inspection function check all network traffic on the network interface. Managing access rules and port security prevents unauthorised entry into the corporate network and protects transmitted data. The security features are complemented by support for DHCP and ARP snooping, which increase the protection of the internal network against spoofed addresses and attacks on the local infrastructure.
The gateway supports advanced network technologies, including 802.1Q standard VLANs, with the ability to define up to 99 separate segments. The MQTT protocol facilitates communication in IoT applications and the transfer of telemetry data to cloud systems. Routing at the L3 and L4 network layers handles the distribution of data flows. Routing functions include both static and dynamic routing using OSPF, BGP, and RIP protocols, which help maintain a stable connection.
At the heart of the router is a quad-core processor running at 600MHz, complemented by 1000MB of flash memory and 448MB of RAM. Physical connectivity is provided by two RJ-45 Ethernet ports with a speed of 100Mbit/s and a switching capacity of 125MB/s. A configurable digital input or output is used for the direct connection of external sensors or switches. The device supports 4G LTE Cat 4 mobile networks with download speeds of up to 150Mbit/s and upload speeds of up to 50Mbit/s.
