The photoelectric sensor in the KIDDE 29HD alarm represents state-of-the-art fire detection technology, which is extremely sensitive to the visible smoke particles produced by smouldering and slow-burning fires. Thanks to its advanced design, the alarm can detect danger in the initial stage of a fire, when there are no open flames but a significant amount of smoke is being produced. The technology uses an optical detection principle, which minimises the risk of false alarms while providing reliable protection even in places where conventional alarms fail, such as near the kitchen.

Smart Temporary Silencing with the HUSH Button

The KIDDE 29HD alarm is equipped with the advanced HUSH function, which effectively solves the problem of unwanted false alarms. This smart feature allows you to temporarily reduce the sensitivity of the alarm for approximately 10 minutes, which is ideal when cooking or in situations where you know the smoke is harmless. Simply press the HUSH button on the alarm cover and the device will automatically silence itself. After 10 minutes, the alarm will automatically return to its fully functional state. In the case of dense smoke, the HUSH function will not respond for safety reasons.

The KIDDE 29HD is Reliable Under All Circumstances

This alarm has an optical (photoelectric) sensor designed for continuous monitoring of the air for the presence of smoke and fire. Thanks to photoelectric detection technology, the alarm responds faster to a fire in its first stage, when a large amount of visible smoke is produced without an open flame, such as smoke from smouldering objects. In the event of a fire, an 85dB acoustic signal is automatically triggered, and the device also signals the alarm optically (indicated by a red LED).

The alarm has a built-in automatic control system that monitors the performance of other device components such as the sensor, battery and internal circuits. If a fault or low battery voltage is detected, the device will notify you both acoustically and visually.
