KORG minilogue xd Module
The Korg minilogue XD module is a four-voice polyphonic analogue synthesizer equipped with a digital multi-engine and built-in digital stereo effects. The desktop module includes the same drivers as the keyboard version, making it great as an additional sound module for your keyboard or DAW and easy to integrate into your wiring. The Korg minilogue XD module is also equipped with PolyChain, which allows you to connect another minilogue XD or minilogue XD module, and the two instruments can then function in your studio or on stage as a polyphonic synthesizer together with up to eight voices.
Key features of the Korg minilogue XD module
- The tool comes with 16 user oscillator slots and 16 user effect slots that you can define
- Motion sequencer allows you to record the movements of up to four knobs, adding changes in time to the sound
- Step sequencer has 16 steps and supports real-time recording
- Minilogue XD module can be used together with another tool of minilogue XD series to extend polyphony
- Minilogue XD module comes with a variety of free music software
Analog synthesizer circuit
The voice structure of the Korg minilogue XD is 2 VCO + MULTI ENGINE, 1 VCF, 2 EG, 1 VCA and 1 LFO. In addition to the circuits characteristic of this series, such as wave shaping to shape the higher harmonic frequencies of the oscillator and a sync/ring switch, there is also a cross modulation, a two-pole sharp and fat filter, and a drive switch adding density to the signal leading to the XD minilogue filter. Every parameter has been fine-tuned to what musicians expect from their synthesizer. Sounds ranging from warm analogue-like surfaces to fat bass and crisp solos are suitable in any situation.
Korg minilogue XD module and digital multi-engine
Multi-engine offers additional sound design options for digital audio: as a third oscillator next to the two analog VCOs. This sound core, which features three different types of sound generator (noise, VPM, and a custom open-source oscillator), allows you to use a sound character different from the analog core simultaneously with the analog core, opening up the XD module to the endless potential of hybrid sound design.
Korg minilogue XD module also supports Poly chain
The Korg minilogue XD module can be used with the other tool (*2) of the Minilogue XD series (*1) to extend polyphony. Select one instrument as master, the other as slave, and they will play like an eight-voice polyphonic synthesizer (*3). It's useful in multiple situations, such as voice extensions for Minilogue XD or as a sound module for DAW-based production systems.
- *1: For models with keyboard and system version 1.10 or higher.
- *2: Any combination of XD and XD module can be used.
- *3: Each of the two XD instruments plays four voices, with a maximum of eight voices in total. The master instrument plays the notes in priority, and the slave instruments are assigned fifths and other voices.
