LG

Korean company LG Electronics was founded in 1958 under the name GoldStar. Two years later it began producing its first products – radios, televisions, refrigerators, washing machines and air conditioners. Even from the early days, LG was a technological innovator.

The first LG colour television


In 1977 LG launched the first ever colour television in Korea. In 1995 the company was renamed LG Electronics and subsequently divided into four divisions: Digital Appliance (DA), Digital Display (DD), Digital Media (DM) and Mobile Communications (MC). Currently, LG Electronics has 81 subsidiaries, employing more than 84,000 people in 112 locations.
