Number of Channels
The number of channels in speaker systems and home cinemas indicates the number of independent audio signals (speakers) and subwoofers, most often in X.Y format (e.g., 2.0, 5.1). It denotes how many audio tracks are reproduced simultaneously, which determines the spatial experience and bass depth of the system, from basic stereo sound (2.0) to surround sound (5.1 and more).
System Type
An active speaker is one that has a built-in amplifier, so all you need to do to listen is connect it to a sound source, either wired or wirelessly. Passive speakers are more often referred to as speaker systems. They are intended more for high-quality, loud and dynamic listening in the comfort of your home and are not suitable for frequent transport. The main advantage of passive speakers is the ability to connect a variety of sources via a separate amplifier.
Active speakers have a custom built-in amplifier (typically a PC speakers). Conversely, passive systems require an external amplifier, from which the sound goes to each speaker.
The number of channels refers to the number of independent audio signals that can be reproduced simultaneously. An example might be 2-channel stereo sound, where each channel represents one ear (left and right), or 5.1 channel surround sound, which has five full channels (front left, center, front right, rear left, rear right) and one channel for the subwoofer.

Dobrý den,
lze Marshall Acton 3 reproduktory spárovat třeba dva nebo tři ks dohromady aby hrály spolu, když jich bude po prostoru rozmístěných více? Myslím, že třeba JBL to umí, díky za info!
