Sage leaf
Sage is a medicinal plant with a semi-shrub-like appearance, 30 to 70 cm tall. Are you wondering what sage tea is and how to prepare it? It' s really simple and will only take you a few minutes .
Ingredients
Dried sage leaves (Salviae officinalis).
Recommended dosage
Sage contains thujone essential oil, which has intoxicating effects, so it is not recommended to drink more than 2 cups of this tea per day. At the same time, sage tea should not be consumed long-term. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should be especially careful.
Preparation
Pour 1 to 2 teaspoons of tea into a mug (250 ml). Pour boiling water (100 ºC) over the leaves. Steep for 5 to 10 minutes. Keep in mind that the longer you steep the tea, the more bitter your drink will be. The rule also applies that the shorter you steep the tea, the lower its effects. You can add sweetener, honey, lemon, etc. to taste.
