Anne from the island
"I think I've really learned to look at every little setback as a joke and every big one as a harbinger of victory."
Anne of Green House is packing her bags, saying goodbye to her childhood and heading to the University of Redmond, where more adventures await. With her friends Priscilla and Filipa, she discovers a new social life full of surprises - including a proposal from an unwelcome suitor, the sale of her first short story, and the painful loss of a loved one. But the tears turn to laughter when Anne and her friends move into Pattina's charming house with a friendly housekeeper and three cats. The most attached to the warrior devil called Zrzka. Handsome Gilbert Blythe is also eager to win her heart. But there's someone else, someone new... Anne must decide if she's ready for a serious relationship. One thing is certain - nothing will be the same.
From student love to a fateful bond. Third meeting with Anne Shirley. The phenomenal series has been translated into forty languages and has sold over 50 million copies worldwide. It has appeared on Canadian postage stamps, and has even become part of the school curriculum in Japan to bring hope to war orphans.

"That evening, Lover's Alley was an unusually quiet and mysterious place. They crossed it slowly and in silence in the pale moonlight, for neither of them wanted to speak.
If Gilbert was always as pleasant as he was tonight, how easy everything would be, Anne thought.
Gilbert looked at her. In her light summer dress, slender and fragile, she reminded him of a white iris.
Who knows if I shall ever win her love, Gilbert thought, feeling keenly his lack of confidence." - excerpt from the book
"Laugh at your mistakes, but learn from them. Make fun of your difficulties, but draw strength from them. Downplay the obstacles, but overcome them. It's good to learn." - excerpt from the book
