Babylon - Blu-ray

Set in 1920s Los Angeles, this cinematic epic is a tale of overweening ambition and outrageous excess, following the rise and fall of many characters during an era of unbridled decadence and corruption in early Hollywood.

Back then, in the 1920s, in the desert town of Los Angeles, it was easy to stumble into a lavish and wild movie party like an absolute nobody and become a movie star the very next morning. That's the trajectory of actress (so far without a single role) Nellie LaRoy (Margot Robbie), who bought a nice dress with her last penny and decided to dazzle anyone who would give her a chance.
Witness her meteoric rise to stardom as "the girl for everything" Manny Torres (Diego Calva), a Mexican immigrant who makes the wildest dreams of movie moguls come true (if you want a live elephant at your party, Manny will get one). As part of his duties, Manny also looks after Jack Conrad (Brad Pitt), the most famous actor of his time, who knows very well how hard it is to stay on top, and who does the possible and the impossible for it, to stay on it.
But a revolution is on the horizon, and until then, silent films are beginning to talk. A hurricane of change is bearing down on Hollywood, destroying and sweeping away many lives, hopes and aspirations, and bringing only a select few to the top of the stars.
