Blood of Perun II
The second part of the two-part novel by František Kotleta, which contains the typical ingredients of Czech fantasy: brutality, sex and hyperbole.
In the world of the ancient gods, things are boiling over. A lost, powerful artefact has appeared, and the one who obtained it has big plans. No, not the kind Mother Teresa would have, more like Amin, the butcher of Uganda. But there is one man. A soldier, betrayed and killed, yet strangely still alive and full of desire to settle the score with every god who stands in his way. But first, he must find out why he survived instead of rotting on the riverbank, gnawed on by rats.
And then? Then he just has to find the highest of the gods, who, according to malicious rumour, has converted to Christianity. Without his help, he will never defeat the new ruler of the gods. And Little Jesus will be angry. František Kotleta completes his wild ride through the Slavic pantheon to the roar of pistols, the howling of werewolves and the swish of cold steel.
František Kotleta
His real name is Leoš Kyša. A native of Bruntál, a writer, a convict, an entrepreneur, the Mowgli of the Jeseníky Mountains, and a butcher. He comes from an artistic family; his mother was a dancer, a gymnast and a spy, who was persecuted for her fearless civil and political stances to such an extent that she was forced to flee the country from the StB (State Security). Her remarkable career as a CIA agent, who tormented both the StB and the KGB with her successes throughout the eighties, has not yet been documented and is shrouded by an iron curtain forged from secrets, myths, legends and half-truths. She disappeared in Brazil in the mid-nineties and there has been no news of her since.
Nothing is known about Kotleta's father either. According to some indications, it is Mikhail Gorbachev, whom Kotleta's mother seduced during his secret visit to Bruntál. According to the malicious tongues of Bruntál, however, it could be practically anyone who ever saved up fifty crowns and could afford a short but exciting adventure in the illegal brothel that Kotleta's mother exemplarily ran as a front for her spying activities.
Libor Terš
You may know Libor Terš not from his photo, but from his distinctively coloured voice. He has been dubbing his whole life and has voiced dozens of characters in series and films during his career. You can also hear him in many Hollywood films, including The Dark Knight Rises, How to Train Your Dragon, Armageddon and Madagascar. For Audioteka, he lent his voice to narrate Stephen King's The Dark Tower series, for example.
