Bob Dylan: The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
LP Record It’s the sound of change. The musical voice of a new way of thinking. And the beginning of arguably the most meteoric rise in music history. The album Freewheelin' was Bob Dylan's artistic and commercial breakthrough. It was a huge leap from his previous album because, let's be clear: Bob Dylan's first album was a flop. It sold about 5000 copies, the record company barely broke even, and producer John Hammond had to endure a lot of ridicule. How fortunate that this didn't shake his faith in the young artist! This is how The Freewheelin' came to be in 1962.
