Collective Hallucination: reality - CD
Trio Collective Hallucination releases an authentic recording about the labyrinth of the present. The third full-length album of the nu-folk alternatives called Reality deals with the backdrop of today's strange times. The band hunts across a wide musical spectrum, from acoustic ballads to ambient moods to experimental electronica, making their songs hit you like an arrow. The collective Hallucination recorded songs about a present in which there is no shared reality, but only a series of bubbles separated by a high wall of misunderstanding. All ten tracks on the album build on strong melody and classic songwriting. At the same time, the songs are peppered with great lyrics, whose sonic coat changes from the first to the last track from acoustic ballad to ambient moods to experimental electronica. The Hallucination collective has made each song a shot aimed straight at the chamber, with lyrics touching on a range of topics including a unique focus on social issues. For example, in the song Siren, about a historical event during the miners' strike in Kladno in 1889, or loneliness, isolation and misunderstanding of the modern world in the song about the ageing pensioner Charlotte Žofia. Compared to the previous album Kosti, there is a clear difference in sound at first listen. The MicroKorg synthesizer gets a lot of space. The acoustic is intertwined with the electronic and, thanks to the sensitive ear of producer Tomáš Neuwerth, supports the message of the lyrics. The final impression from the album Reality may be the feeling that we are living in a groundbreaking time, which will not forgive us for our hesitations. After the album is finished, the listener is relieved of the illusion that the future is rosy. However, from the very first song, hope shines through the record that,,, Dawn is coming. " Meanwhile, in that moment before dawn, let us listen together to what this extraordinary band has heard not only in the depths of the Earth.
