About the LOCIKA center

Centrum LOCIKA, z. at. was opened in 2015 as the first and still the only center to help children experiencing domestic violence. Such specialized and comprehensive assistance has been lacking in the Czech Republic so far. The LOCIKA center will celebrate hemispheres this spring - so far we have helped 970 children and 566 families. Last year, we cared for 276 children, 161 mothers and 143 fathers. LOCIKA' s work is based on an innovative methodology aimed at enabling children to live without violence and not repeating the patterns of behavior they have experienced at home. It is a unique form of help for children at risk of domestic violence in the Czech Republic, which provides support to the whole family, children and both parents free of charge. Many years of experience show that domestic violence can be stopped on condition that that focused therapeutic work and support will go not only to victims of violence, but also its originator, witnesses that is, to the whole family. And that is precisely the uniqueness of the methodology of the LOCIKA Center - it works with the whole family where violence occurs, ie also with parents who commit violence.
