Eliška the Detective

How does a summer camp turn into a city of crime? Hello! For those who don't know me yet, my name is Eliška, and the only thing on my mind right now is the summer holidays. Tomorrow, I'm off to the Jizera Mountains for my first-ever summer camp. We're going to learn everything a real detective needs to know and do. So, let the adventure begin! The third and final book in the series. For children aged 6 and up. “All the Eliška books were brilliant, but we probably liked The Detective the best. Maybe because we already knew all the characters and could jump straight into the story. Plus, the theme of summer camp, the Jizera Mountains, and detective cases is right up our street. A top book for younger school-aged children.” “If you have young children at home, read (or better yet, listen to) this magical story with them. It has everything – mystery, intrigue, friendship, new experiences, the first steps towards independence... in short, a wonderful summer adventure that you can enjoy with your children. And believe me, you won't be bored.” – from reader reviews on Databazeknih.cz Dramatic music echoed through the camp. Confused children were running everywhere. Arnošt had just run past Eliška. “What's going on?” she shouted at him. “I have no idea. It looks like we're in England,” he replied hurriedly and kept running. Only then did Eliška notice the signs placed around the camp. She didn't understand what was written on them. It seemed to be in English. Even the main sign, OWL HILL SUMMER CAMP, was gone. In its place hung a different wooden sign that read LONDON. On the camp leaders' cabin, she read POLICE STATION. “Don't worry,” a big girl reassured her when she saw how scared Eliška looked, “the camp game is just starting!” – an excerpt from the text
