Elvis Presley: A Date With Elvis Ltd Clr
LP Record When Elvis joined the army in 1958, his manager Colonel Tom Parker and his record label were desperate to find material they could release to satisfy the demands of his frantic fans. A Date With Elvis is comprised of singles and unreleased material from his early Sun days between 1954 and 1957. Featuring songs from Bill Monroe and Charlie Feathers to Lieber and Stoller, it might be a filler compilation of singles, but it's all classic material from one of rock's legends at the peak of his career. A Date With Elvis (1959) is a masterpiece that helped define the nature of early rock'n'roll and the commercial success that made the King of Rock a household name.
