Regarding the crime of sexual violence under § 200 para. 1. of the Criminal Code: “Whosoever compels another to engage in oral intercourse, anal intercourse or other sexual practices by force or the threat of immediate force, or who takes advantage of their defencelessness for such an act, shall be punished by imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years.” The act occurred on 2 June 2021 in the part of Michalovce called Stráňany, by the Laborec river, victim Viktória Krajňáková, born 23 October 1999. My name is Viktória, I was born on Saturday 23 October 1999, and I want to talk about the fact that violence is all around us. I know what I'm talking about. The author draws on her own experience to describe many highly topical structural societal shortcomings—from the dismissive attitude of mainstream society towards neurodiversity to the trivialisation of sexualised and gender-based violence. She combines different types of language and perspectives to describe the events of her life—from her own feelings and positions, through interviews with authorities and the official language of police reports, to tabloid crime reporting on television. In doing so, she highlights the inability of different social environments to understand each other.
Viktória Krajňáková (1999, Michalovce). She graduated from the Secondary School of Film in Košice and continued her studies in film directing in Písek. She is studying Art and Technology at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design (UMPRUM) in Prague.
