Gottfried Keller: Little Cat Mirror

Mr. Pinajs is a savvy businessman. He sells everything, but his greatest desire is to become a sorcerer and outwit even the famous witch Hildegartha. To do this, however, he needs to prepare an ointment whose main ingredient is cat fat. And it is for this purpose that he makes a deal with a poor cat who doesn't know which way to go. Soon, however, the cat recovers, because he knows that the lard from him means his death. So he sets his own trap for the callous and almost omnipotent Pinays. He gets help from his lovely cat Bela and also from the witch herself. Performers: Rudolf Hrušínský, Blanka Waleska, Václav Postránecký, Josef Somr, Vlasta Fabianová, Jana Drbohlava.
