Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters - Blu-ray
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters - Blu-ray
Jenny (Jeremy Renner) and Gretel (Gemma Arterton), as professional witch killers, deal with their childhood traumas.
If you didn't hear this classic tale as a child, the filmmakers will retell it during the opening credits for good measure. But then a completely different story unfolds.
We find ourselves in a typical medieval town, plagued by the usual problems of the time, including the kidnapping of local children by witches who are said to inhabit the surrounding deep woods. The local lawman (Peter Stormare) claims he's up to the job, but he's overestimated his abilities. The mayor therefore invites two celebrities, the legendary witch hunters Hansel and Gretel, on a rescue mission. The siblings set out on the trail of the kidnappers with a vigour all their own and their work soon begins to bear fruit. Unfortunately, different from what they would have liked.
For they will find that they are up against forces many times more powerful than anything they have had to face so far. They embark on an uneasy battle against mighty odds. Will they get a happy ending this time too?
