Pietro Gerber is not just any psychologist. He specializes in hypnosis and his patients have one thing in common: they're kids. They are often traumatised, scarred by dramatic events or have important information hidden deep in their memories that police and judges use in their investigations.
Pietro is the best in all of Florence, where he is known as a child soporific. But when an Australian colleague calls him from the other side of the world to entrust him with the care of her patient Hanna Hall, Pietro reacts with embarrassment and disbelief because Hanna is an adult.
Hanna is tormented by a vivid memory that might not be real: the memory of a murder. And to find out if that sliver of memory is truth or illusion, she desperately needs Pietro Gerber. She may be an adult now, but it's about her childhood. And so Pietro will have to help her wake up the little girl that still slumbers inside her.
