Hunger. Thirst

A double portion of the dark imagination of Slovak writer Jozef Karika is published as a double book Hunger. Thirst. Each of the books offers a separate experience, but reading both gives the story new layers of meaning. < br> An unnaturally tall man with a suitcase hiding the worst nightmares, a brutal killer in a yellow windbreaker, a ghostly mask made of old jute... The chilling narrative captures a hundred years of the ghostly history of Čebrať Hill and nearby Ružomberok. The author presents it through a masterfully constructed mosaic of stories that are intertwined in space and time. "This double book was written differently from my previous novels. I wanted to compile a collection of my older and new mystery novels. As I worked, I noticed that they were creating a coherent narrative. My subconscious has been dosing me with it for 20 years. This discovery took me by surprise, and I was astonished to discover the most horrifying story I have yet encountered," says the author of his latest book.
