John Coltrane: My Favorite Things LTD limited edition
LP Record The album "My Favorite Things" was released in March 1961 and was the first album where John Coltrane played soprano saxophone in addition to his tenor sax. His soprano takes the lead on two of the album's four tracks, including the unforgettable title song, written by Rodgers and Hammerstein for the musical The Sound of Music. An edited version of the fourteen-minute original became a radio hit that spring. The song's success helped introduce Coltrane to a wider audience, and the album has inspired generations of fans ever since. In recognition of its enduring artistic and historical importance, "My Favorite Things" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1998 and certified Gold in 2018. Rhino is celebrating the 60th.
