A range of producers contributed to the album, including Lamar himself, Sounwave, DJ Dahi, Mike Will Made It, and 9th Wonder. The album's lead single, "Humble.", was released on 30 March 2017. The song was a commercial success, reaching number one on the charts in the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. The second single from the album, "Loyalty.", featuring Rihanna, was released on 14 April 2017. Damn. received widespread critical acclaim. On Metacritic, which assigns a normalised rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, the album received an average score of 94, based on 26 reviews.
