Libor Šmoldas Quartet: 18 Days. 2000 Miles. - CD
The third album by the leading Czech jazz guitarist and composer Libor Šmoldas and his quartet entitled “18 Days. 2000 Miles. “, which was taken in the US at the end of the US tour in spring 2011.
In addition to guitarist Libor Šmoldas, our leading players of the younger jazz generation perform on the recording - specifically double bassist Josef Fečo, pianist Petr Beneš and drummer Tomáš Hobzek.
The album is mostly original, composed of Šmoldas' s compositions, which are supplemented by one composition by drummer Hobzek and double bassist Feč, as well as three adopted compositions. The album closes as a bonus track with the classic jazz hit “Moanin“ by Bobby Timmons, which the band recorded live during their joint performance at a festival in the USA with the legendary saxophonist Bobby Watson and subsequently foreshadowed their further collaboration.
