Madagascar - DVD

The main characters of the story are four pampered animals from a New York zoo who could have happily received their daily dose of admiration and food for the rest of their lives. That is, until Marty the zebra has a midlife crisis and, with the help of some resourceful penguins, decides to make an illegal escape. His friends – Alex the lion, Gloria the hippo and Melman the giraffe – set off after him into the streets of New York, triggering a chain of scarcely believable events that leads them all the way to the coast of the exotic island of Madagascar.
Here, these native New Yorkers must fend for themselves for the first time in their lives and learn to survive in the wild, which proves to be much more challenging for a coddled lion, a zany zebra, a pragmatic hippo and a hypochondriac giraffe than it might first seem.
