Madonna: Ray Of Light (2× LP) – LP

Ray of Light is the seventh studio album by American singer-songwriter Madonna, released in February and March 1998 by Maverick Records. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified the album gold, platinum and 2× platinum on 22 April 1998, and 4× platinum on 16 March 2000.

This certification represents over 4 million copies sold in the United States, making the album Madonna's fifth best-selling record in the US. It has sold over 20 million copies worldwide. In 1999, the album won three Grammy Awards, including Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Dance Recording.

Its working title was The Drowned World, inspired by J. G. Ballard's 1962 novel of the same name. The album marked a new musical direction for Madonna and was designed as her comeback. The lyrics deal with personal themes such as motherhood, fame and spirituality.
