Maraca: The Body Is Too Slow For Me - CD
Maraca, who proved with their previous album Longe that they are among the Czech elite in the world music genre, this time invited the Indian guitarist Amit Chatterjee, one of the absolute top guitarists and vocalists in the world, to record their new album. The album is much sharper than the previous one and makes no compromises. Singer Gabriela Vermelho, who won an award for her role as the 'witch' Eva in Ballad for a Bandit, has undergone significant development.
Overall, the band's sound is more rock-oriented. The electric guitar dominates, but the violin and acoustic guitar are also prominent, along with Arabic lutes, a didgeridoo, and computer samples. Everything is complemented by the very evocative voice of singer, violinist, and violist Gabriela, which has a beautiful exotic touch and a strong, confident expression. The album is a 100% sincere and authentic work. While the album Longe was sung mostly in Portuguese, English now prevails.
