He lived the life of a bohemian, loved women, music, grand gestures.
In his heart, the unbridled wildness of an extravagant artist battled with the duty and morality of an official, a diplomat. He travelled much of his life, but he never forgot the country he came from, the republic founded by his father Tomáš Garrigue. The death of Jan Masaryk is still shrouded in mystery. But many secrets are hidden in his life too!
The dramatic story, dedicated to the fate of the ambassador and later Czechoslovak Foreign Minister, Jan Masaryk, goes back to the time just before the Second World War. Masaryk seeks escape from his name, from responsibility and from himself in a life of debauchery, alcohol and drugs, but also in constant self-torture. The then ambassador to London suddenly disappears from public life. He is cutting off contact with political colleagues and friends. He's disappearing for a few months, somewhere in America. Set against the backdrop of historical events, it is the thrilling life story of a charming but unbalanced, self-destructive man and his futile struggle for the future of his country.
