Metallica: St. Anger (2xLP) - LP

St. Anger is the eighth studio album by American thrash metal band Metallica. Released on 5 June 2003, the album went straight to number 1 in the charts.

As a highly anticipated release, the album sees the band return to a style closer to their early days rather than continuing in the vein of their most famous era.
This is the first album following the departure of bassist Jason Newsted.

Fans received the album with a lot of controversy. It completely lacks the guitar solos that are so typical of Metallica, and has a very raw sound. While many fans criticise it for this, it has still found a loyal following among metal purists.

Drummer Lars Ulrich and guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield founded Metallica in 1981, and over more than thirty years of existence, it has become one of the most influential and commercially successful bands in history. Having sold over 110 million albums and played to millions of fans, they became the first band to perform on all seven continents in under a year, earning them a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. They achieved this feat in 2013, when they became the first and, so far, only band to play in Antarctica. Metallica have won several Grammy and MTV Video Music Awards, are the third best-selling artist since sales monitoring began, have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and historically belong to the so-called Big Four of thrash metal, alongside Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax.
