New Order: Movement (2015 Remaster)
LP Record Released in 1981, New Order's 'Movement' is often cited as the band's debut album. Although the band had released several singles and EPs before Movement, this is considered the first time the band's sound coalesced into the post-punk/new-wave style for which they would become known. The album was produced by Martin Hannett, who also produced Joy Division's final album, Closer. The album's sound is often dark and brooding, with heavy basslines and synthesisers. The lyrics, primarily written by Bernard Sumner, often deal with themes of love and loss. The album's lead single, 'Dreams Never End', became a Top 10 hit in the UK.
