In the past, Noi's music has been described as a slower and perhaps even sadder version of Čp 8, or as a distinctive Czech take on songwriters like Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, or Michael Nace. The band members themselves have very diverse musical tastes, ranging from jazz through classical to hardcore (the singer is also in the emo-punk band Goro, while the guitarist is in the folk-rock group Veselá zubaté).
Perhaps because of this wide range, Noi's use of more or less traditional folk instrumentation pushes them stylistically far from typical Czech 'campfire' music. However, lyrics also play a significant role in the band's expression, often perceived by listeners as poems set to music. "I have two main themes," admits P. Wagner, "faith and relationships. You could say I can't write about anything else." Besides their own lyrics, Noi has also set several poems to music. For this album, a text by Ivan Jirous was selected. "I consider 'Magor' to be the best contemporary poet, and he's one of my biggest favourites, right alongside Reynek, Skácel, or Kainar.
