John Boyega and Scott Eastwood lead a team that is the planet's last hope for survival. The members of this team are pilots who control Jaegers, giant robots whose size and equipment can compete with the equally equipped Kaiju. Jake Pentecost (John Boyega) was one of them for a long time, but then he turned his back on his talent and the legacy of his father, who sacrificed his life in the fight against the Kaiju. He prefers to survive illegally, earning a living through various activities outside the law. During one such operation, he runs into fifteen-year-old Amara, who has managed to steal and reactivate a Jaeger originally destined for destruction. Before the two can get properly acquainted, the law is on their heels. To escape punishment, they are integrated into a training programme for new Jaeger pilots. Jake works alongside his former partner Lambert (Scott Eastwood) as an instructor, and Amara as a promising pilot. They all hope they will never have to test their training skills in a real war. But it is coming. Sooner than anyone wished, and from a direction no one expected.
