Picnic by the road

The novel Picnic by the Roadside is probably the most famous work of the brotherly duo

In this now classic novel, the Zone - an area full of mystery and mysterious phenomena left behind by the alien Visitor - plays a central role. In the Zone, danger can come from anywhere and every step can mean death. Yet, night after night, stalkers, illegal seekers of alien artifacts, risk their lives to retrieve miraculous treasures that do not come from our world. The tax the Zone levies is high. And everyone must pay - without exception. But maybe, somewhere deep, very deep in the Zone, beyond the dozens of deathtraps, there is something that can completely change the fate of the finder and with it the fate of humanity...

The new translation of the novel is based on the complete, restored text of the original. After almost fifty years, Czech readers can now read Picnic by the Road exactly as the authors intended it to be.
