Soul-jazz superstar Gregory Porter releases Nat King Cole & Me!

It is a deeply personal tribute to the legendary jazz singer Nato King Cole, who ignited Gregory' s love of music, and whose unusual style, so wonderful to listen to, is said to be uninspired.

The flagship single Smile and the songs LOVE and Nature Boy contain excerpts directly from Cole' s melodies, and When Love Was King is a Cole-inspired arrangement of Gregory' s own song, originally released on a platinum album full of Liquid Spirit hits. The album is Gregory' s first act to record accompanied by a complete orchestra.

The influence of Nat King Cole on the life and music of Gregory Porter is considerable. Some memories of him date back to the earliest childhood and culminate with the release of the current album Nat King Cole & Me. “At the age of five or six, Nato' s music filled me with a void. My father was not present in my life and did not show any interest in my person or upbringing. For me, Nato' s words were life lessons, a well of wisdom and fatherly advice that I needed so much, ”says Gregory.

Gregory Porter enchanted the audience with a rich soulful voice. For Liquid Spirit and Take Me to The Alley, he won a Grammy, the title of one of the biggest and most prominent names on the jazz scene, and became one of the most sought-after singers. Porter regularly sells out concerts and is invited to prestigious television shows, such as The Graham Norton Show or the BBC Music Awards. He became Britain' s adopted treasure, sang for the Queen herself several times and performed at major music festivals such as Glastonbury, and with his ability to transcend and combine genres he created one of Ibiza' s most popular Liquid Spirit dance songs - Claptone Remix.
