Psychology of criminal behaviour
This publication addresses the serious social issue of delinquency and crime. It provides an analysis of criminal behaviour as well as psychological and educational problems related to influencing the behaviour of persons during their imprisonment and after their release.
The first part of the publication contains the theoretical background of the issue:
• crime, its causes and sources
• personality traits and characteristics of the criminal subculture
• psychology of criminal behaviour as an applied discipline
Furthermore, the psychosocial aspects of educational influence on deviant and criminal subculture both in prisons and after the release of convicts are described. Increased attention is paid to their resocialization and subsequent education in terms of prevention as well as in terms of rehabilitation using integration tools.
The book concludes with practical experience and knowledge from the authors' professional work. The publication is enriched with a number of original examples and case studies from (post)penitentiary practice.
