Remastered album on 180-gram vinyl.
“Sticky Fingers“ is The Rolling Stones album from 1971. It is the first album recorded under the Rolling Stones Records label and for the first time on the band' s entire album, Mick Taylor plays.
This album is composed mostly of previously unused or completely remade songs. In terms of content, it says a lot about the atmosphere in the band and its surroundings. They look tired and drugged (in more than half of the songs, drugs are explicitly mentioned, the rest make allusions to them in some way), as if they can barely stay afloat.
In addition to the now classic opening track “Brown Sugar“ (such a lively song about slavery, sex between different races and the loss of panic), the long workout “Can' t You Hear Me Knocking“ and the energetic “Bitch“, the rest of the album is a slow, blues affair with several transitions to the country.
New guitarist Mick Taylor was given a lot of space to show his skills, especially in the extensive code “Can' t You Hear Me Knocking“. However, the key to this album is not in the instrumental performance, it is excellent, but in a certain strange tiredness of the songs. Nevertheless, “Wild Horses“ is Stoun' s first non-ironic country song that will take your heart, and “I Got the Blues“ is one of their best blues songs.
“Sister Morphine“ tells a terrifying story about an overdose, and “Moonlight Mile“ (with Paul Buckmaster' s bow) is the perfect point: sad, mournful, drugged, but beautiful. With its mixture of decadence, honest musical craft and open audacity, this band' s album seems to set the tone for the rest of the decade.
