Sharp objects
It's hard to imagine a more horrific crime than strangling a little girl.
The forgotten Missouri small town of Wind Gap hasn't yet recovered from one brutal murder, and already there's another, just as horrific and incomprehensible. Why innocent girls? And why did the killer pull out almost all their teeth? For young Chicago reporter Camille Preaker, who grew up in Wind Gap, such a case is a welcome scoop. But what at first seemed like a career opportunity eventually takes on a much more fatal and tragic form. It turns out that the obsession goes to blood in this story. To the word and to the letter.
Gillian Flynn's controversial, disturbing psychothriller, which HBO made into a dramatic miniseries starring Amy Adams, marks the beginning of the author's successful writing career: Her books (published in forty-one languages) have not left the bestseller lists - or the minds of readers - since.
