The game also puts you in charge of cultural and religious development. You can create your own religion and spread it among other nations, for better or for worse. To gain an advantage over your rivals, you can also use espionage to steal their technologies or disrupt their alliances with city-states.

War, Diplomacy and International Trade

Relationships with other civilizations are key. You can wage large-scale wars with them on land and sea, where ranged bombardment will force you to think strategically. Each of the 43 historical leaders has their own plan for victory and requires a different approach. In addition to war, diplomacy is also important, where you will negotiate with the most cunning rulers in history. City-states represent a separate battlefield for influence. You can also strengthen your empire by creating trade routes and turning cities into centres of international trade.

Definitive Edition and Multiplayer Game

This complete edition gathers all the content for Civilization V in one package. In addition to the original, award-winning game, you'll also get the two major expansion packs, Gods & Kings and Brave New World, which fundamentally expand the game mechanics. It also includes all the smaller map packs and scenarios. If you get tired of playing against the AI, you can jump into online competition. In multiplayer, you will challenge other players from all over the world and compete for the title of ruler of the planet.
