Soundtrack: Alice' s Restaurant - CD
On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the film' s premiere, this soundtrack is released in an expanded form, which contains all the tracks from the 1969 and 1998 releases, supplemented by additional bonuses.
The story of the film is based on the real experience of A. Guthrie with the recruitment of troops to Vietnam during the peace movement of the 1960s. Director Arthur Penn was completely captivated by Arl Guthrie' s blues narration The Alice ' Restaurant Massacree from 1968, and the following year he made the song with screenwriter Venable Herndon the feature film Alice Restaurant.
